CFNKLS is an affiliate community fund operating under Osprey Community Foundation’s wing. We are now accepting applications from charitable organizations providing services and programs within the North Kootenay Lake Region, Kaslo and RDCK Area D.

2023 Grant Recipients
Grant recipients are required to provide written reports about their projects as soon as possible upon completion of the project (preferably in early January of the new year). It is mandatory that a project report is received before applying for a grant the following year and before April 15. CFNKLS distributes grants each Spring to registered charities in the North Kootenay Lake region (Kaslo and Area D).
If your organization is not a registered charity, you can seek to partner with one of the existing charities in the region. A non-registered charity can also be sponsored by a qualified donee which includes schools, churches, municipalities, and provincial organizations.

No deadlines and you don’t need to have charitable status. We have limited funds so first come first serve!

Community Services Recovery Fund
The Community Services Recovery Fund is a $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support charities and non-profits as they focus on how to adapt their organizations for pandemic recovery. The final date to apply is February 21.

SLIDE folks (Supporting Learning of Inclusivity, Diversity, and Empathy) is an ongoing effort to combat and support the unlearning of racism and discrimination in our community. SLIDE received a $100 grant from the Small Neighbourhood Grant Initiative in 2020. Along with other fundraising, they were able to purchase diversity books for the library.
